HPC Data Centers constitute a heavy load to the grid. Typically, they require a lot of energy and heat dissipation systems. The have also an special characteristic, they tend to be more location agnostic that conventional data centers. With the advent of AI and Cryptocurrencies, these data centers are set for an exponential growth. Only limited by the grid physical capabilities and constraints.
On the other hand, the growth of renewable energies are producers is also limited by the grid constraints, as they cannot grow as much as the want.
If the interconnexion between both parties is the constraint, a straightforward solution is to move the consumers next to the producers. That can’t be done with any load but can be done with HPC datacenters.
